Registration is open for the 2015 Connect2Direct Summit: Building Vibrant Farmers Markets.
The summit brings together farmers, market managers and board members to discuss market trends and assess the viability of North Carolina’s farmers markets. Workshops will explore metrics to measure market success, how to manage change, and strategies for building a customer base.
The all-day forum takes place Tuesday, December 8, at the Benson Center on the campus of Wake Forest University. Early registration is $35 until November 10. Full price registration is $50.
Connect2Direct is a collaboration between the Rural Advancement Foundation International and the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project:
to support and build equitable community-based local food economies through the development of direct markets for farmers in North Carolina. Connect2Direct aims to dramatically increase farm to consumer direct sales and the usage of SNAP/EBT at farmers markets in NC – by over 100% within two years – by providing training and technical assistance to markets and market vendors, creating effective collaborative marketing and outreach campaigns, facilitating the transactional process for SNAP/EBT, and building statewide capacity and efficiency to sustainably ensure that all North Carolinians have access to fresh foods grown by local farmers.
